I have been to US quite a few times with many of them being professional trips. I have been to North Carolina, New York, Washington, LA, Las Vegas and few cities in Texas. The first trip was to North Carolina for 4 months. There is not much to do in the capital Raleigh/Durham apart from the scenic drives. Made a quick and short trip to Washington to see the White House and the Washington Monument. Apart from that the highlight of the trip was an introduction to Thai food by a colleague of mine and since the association with Thai food has been only growing stronger. Austin in Texas has been another regular one for mew with Dell Headquarters being located over there. My souvenir collection hobby became serious in one of the trip and the best part of US is that they tend to create replicas of all visited places.
My first personal trip along with family was made to New York for two days. We took City sightseeing bus trip. Started off with the pick up at the New York times square taking us to Statue of Liberty which also requires a short boat trip to the location and going through the Manhattan areas stopping by close to Flatron, Chrysler , Empire state buildings. We also did a night trip in the bus to see the Skyscrapers lit in light. This trip was a feast to my son with plenty of Pizzas, Burgers and all the fabulous desserts.
Next up on the trip was Los Angeles. We stayed at the City Centre and made trip to Hollywood and Universal Studios. Universal Studios was a first time and we all loved the experience init. Later on a we made a bus trip to Vegas. Stayed in one of the Hotel in the Vegas Strip. From there we talked into various Casinos including MGM where the big boxing events are conducted. The hotels in Vegas however big are friendly on the pocket as their intent is to make more money on the Casinos inside. Plenty of Souvenirs all over Vegas. Next day was a booked trip to Grand Canyon. However my son was not keeping well so we had to skip and return back to LA on our way back home. Post this we made few other transit and shopping stops but not much to write about. Probably when I do the Alaska trip !!!
