We made 5 day Summer visit to Yerevan and visited most of the Apostloic Monasteries around it including the Garni and Gerhard monastery. We had lovely view of Mt. Ararat during our flight. However later on it was haze all the time and we couldn't get any better view of the mountain during our stay. Armenia is known for Pomegranate Wine and the famous Cognac Brandy. One could go for tasting tours of the same. The famous shopping area is the Vernissage where all kind of Souvenirs are found including the small wine drums. We also went to Jermuk along the Caucasus mountains for the Geysir experience in the wild and also to drink the natural mineral water.
One of the monastery Khor Virap offers post card views with Ararat in the background. We winded up the trip with a lunch at Lake Sevan including the local fish. Luckily for us we had a local driver with good English who made our trip very memorable. If you guys want to know about him, do mail me for the same.
