We visited only Rio in the Samba land. I strongly believe this place is only for the beach loving and party lovers. We had heard about lot of crime in this place, so we did not take any chance and hired a known English speaking driver well in advance. We visited the place from where Rio Carnival gets started, called Sambadroma. We saw some Bahia dancers and got lucky with the camera. We also visited the Sugar Loaf mountain over a cable car to get breathtaking views of the City and the beach. There seems to be lot of history associated with this place . Couldnt afford to miss out on the Maracana football stadium while in Rio and we pictured ourselves with the footprints of legendary Brazilian players. A must visit for every football fan.
The big disappointment was the weather as it was too cloudy. So when we visited the Christ statue, one of the wonder of the world we could hardly spot anything clearly apart from the feet of the Christ. So no great pictures and no second time as our tickets to Peru on the next day was already booked !!!
