We directly travelled to Kandy upon arrival in Colombo via a rented car. On the way we found some spice shops so were quick to hop on to it. We visisted the Temple of Tooth where a Buddha tooth is kept. It was an interesting setting to be around with the locals at this temple. Next we travelled to Sirigriya rock. However we couldnt go up all the way and had to give up due to the humid climate at that time of the year. Lankan food is similar to Indian spice levels. They mainly use Hoppers a type of pancake, made with fermented rice batter and coconut milk and Rice with various curries. We also sipped a lot of Ceylon tea throughout our travel. Nuwara Eliya is another interesting place and looks similar to Ooty in India. However we didnt get much time to travel to this place. However on the way back to Colombo we spent time in an Elephant Orphanage and brought some products made of its dung. One could really feel for these orphaned and injured animals here.
We brought few Sri Lankan masks as Souvenirs on the way. Once in Colombo, we visited a Buddha temple and spent some time over there before returning to our base.
