A new quest for Ramayana trails. Finished the Ayodhya trip in Jan 2018. It was a foggy day and hence couldn't get quality pictures. We visited the the Ram birthplace which was heavily guarded by the army , the Hanuman temple and the Sarayu river. I could only wish the weather was much better so that we could have spent some quality time. Next on the trail was a discovery by chance i.e. the birth place of Lava Kush in Amritsar and their paatshala. Also Valmiki ashram has been built around this place. Lepakshi was another place we visited to see the ancient Veerbhadra temple. Lepakshi is a sacred site right from the time of Ramayana. It was at this very place that the great Jatayu fell down after his fight with Ravan in the process of rescuing Mata Sita. Shri Ram and Lakshman searching for Mata Sita came to this place and found Jatayu waiting for them with his last breath. Seeing Jatayu, Shri Ram had said “Le – Get up, Pakshi – Bird, since then this place came to be known as Lepakshi. We have also visited Sirigriya in Sri Lanka. It is beleived that the plateau top was the site of Ravana’s majestic palace, made of solid gold and crafted by Kubera, the God of Wealth, around 50 centuries ago
So whats next ? Well Nasik, Rameshwaram, Palk Straits and Northern Lanka are on the way. I couldn't make certain places in Lanka on earlier visit due to the situation out there but hopefully some time soon :)
