Uttar Pradesh is the land of Lord Rama and Krishna.
We visited Lucknow, Kanpur and Ayodhya in 2017. Lucknow was mainly for Nawabi food, Ayodhya for religious visit and Kanpur on transit where we picked up few leather items. We tried food manily in Tunday and Dastarkhwan restaurants. Galawati kabab has indeed become a favourite now. Somehow i prefer Hyderbadi Sweets over Lucknow. Ayodhya trip was to visit Ram Janmabhoomi which was heavily guarded. Agra was on an another trip which was mainly to see the Taj Mahal. We recently made a trip to Kashi/Benares/Varanasi to visit the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple for the Jyotirlinga and Buddha stupas at Sarnath. Vegetarian food is one among the best in Benares and one has to go thru the narrow lanes in this ancient Indian town to discover the same along with the famous sweets of Malayio, Jelebi and Lassi. I hear that Sarnath is the place where Buddha delivered his first teachings.
