Karnataka, the land of Sandalwood is my home state. We have been to many a places here like thee coffee plantations hill stations of Coorg and Chickmanglur, Bidar my hometown, Mysore etc. Food varies from North to South Karnataka so cant be missed out.
Coorg is also called Scotland of the east and known for Coffee and Spices. One should go for a homestay to enjoy the real experience.
Chickmanglur has got coffee and the famous Bababudangeri Trek. Mysore has very rich heritage and one cannot miss out the famous Palace or the Sandlewood based souvenirs in this place.
There is the world famous Jog falls in Central Karnataka close to Shimoga and one needs to ensure they visit during the rainy season to get true experience.
The temple towns of Dharmasthala, Mudeshwar, Udupi, Sringeri, Kukki all have got lot to see and experience. Hampi has lot of history and so is the North Karnataka for the forts and ruins. Did I miss out Bengaluru, the Silicon valley of the east for all its Cosmopolitan experience , IT parks, Global Cuisines ? Finally there is Gokarna with its famous Om beach.
